Anadolu University is a state university in Eskişehir whose roots date to 1958. It combines on-campus education with a large open and distance learning system. Its Yunus Emre Campus hosts faculties, research centres, a major library, and cultural and sports facilities, serving both resident and international students.
Anadolu University traces its roots to the Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, and became Anadolu University in 1982. According to the official “Anadolu at a Glance” page updated on 7 November 2025, the university has 10 faculties, three applied schools, three vocational schools, two graduate schools and 23 research centres. It reports 22,843 resident students and 873,584 active students in the Open Education System, including 2,458 foreign resident students and 5,816 foreign open-education students. Languages of instruction include Turkish, English, French, German and Russian. Yunus Emre Campus provides a 24/7 main library, cultural venues, sports facilities and meal services.
