Ibn Haldun University

Ibn Haldun University was founded by TÜRGEV in 2015 and began teaching in the 2017–2018 academic year. It focuses on research in the humanities and social sciences and operates through the Ibn Haldun University Complex in Başakşehir, the Süleymaniye Campus and the Taş Mektep Campus in Bakırköy. According to the university’s official profile using June 2025 data, IHU has 359 academics and lecturers, 1,212 Turkish students and 574 international students from 74 countries, with international students representing 32% of enrolment. Instruction is offered in Turkish, Arabic and English, while additional Eastern and Western languages are available as electives. The Başakşehir complex includes academic buildings, classrooms, a library, dormitories, sports facilities and social spaces in a campus inspired by classical Ottoman architecture.
