A long-established public technical university in Istanbul and one of the world's oldest technical universities, distinguished by strong programs in engineering, architecture, science, technology and the arts.
Istanbul Technical University traces its history to 1773, when it was founded as Mühendishâne-i Bahrî-i Hümâyûn. Today it is recognized as Türkiye's first technical university and a leading institution in engineering, architecture and scientific research. Its main campus is the Ayazağa Campus in Maslak, Istanbul. The university offers education through 13 faculties, a state conservatory and a vocational school of cyber security, with programs spanning engineering, architecture, computer science, aeronautics and astronautics, maritime studies, management, basic sciences, design and music. Program information follows the university's official international admissions and program pages. Tuition amounts are tied to the official 2025–2026 table for students admitted from abroad; dual-degree program figures represent the ITU portion where the official schedule separates fees by institution.
